BIOFUELS TP - EUROPEAN BIOFUELS TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM
The mission of the European Bio-fuels Technology Platform (TP) is to contribute to the development of cost-competitive world-class bio-fuels value chains; to the creation of a healthy bio-fuels industry, and to accelerate the sustainable deployment of bio-fuels in the EU, through a process of guidance, prioritisation and promotion of research, technology development and demonstration.
ECTP - EUROPEAN CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM
ECTP will raise the sector to a higher worldbeating level of performance and competitiveness. This is achieved by analysing the major challenges that the sector faces in terms of society, sustainability and technological development. ETIP SNET - EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION PLATFORM FOR SMART NETWORKS FOR ENERGY TRANSITION
European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been created in the framework of the new Integrated Roadmap SET Plan by bringing together a multitude of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector. The ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (SNET) role is to guide research and innovation to support Europe's energy transition.
ETIP PV - EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION PLATFORM ON PHOTOVOLTAIC
The European Technology & Innovation Platform PV provides advice on photovoltaic solar energy policy. It is an independent body recognised by the European Commission and the SET Plan Steering Group as representative of the photovoltaic sector. Its recommendations may cover the areas of research and innovation, market development including competitiveness, education and industrial policy.
NANOfutures environment is an ETIP European Technology Integrating and Innovation Platform, multi-sectorial, cross-ETP, integrating platform with the objective of connecting and establishing cooperation and representation of Technology Platforms that require nanotechnologies in their industrial sector and products. NANOfutures and its operative branch NANOfutures association act as a “Nano-Hub” by linking JTIs, associations, ETPs with expert groups in a collaborative environment.
NESSI - NETWORKED EUROPEAN SOFTWARE AND SERVICES INITIATIVE
NESSI provides input to the EU Institutions on research actions and technology matters of particular importance to the software domain, and the overall aim is to enable the software and services sector help vitalize the great potential of the European economy and society.
NetWorld2020 is the European Technology Platform for communications networks and services. Communications networks enable interaction between users of various types of equipment, either mobile or fixed; they are the foundation of the Internet. The NetWorld2020 European Technology Platform gathers players of the communications networks sector: industry leaders, innovative SMEs, and leading academic institutions.
ETIP RHC - EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION PLATFORM ON RENEWABLE HEATING & COOLING
The European Technology & Innovation Platform on Renewable Heating & Cooling brings together stakeholders from the biomass, geothermal and solar thermal sector - including the related industries - to define a common strategy for increasing the use of renewable energy technologies for heating and cooling.

The Geothermal ETIP is an open stakeholder group, including representatives from industry, academia, research centres, and sectoral associations, covering the entire deep geothermal energy exploration, production and utilization value chain. The European Technology and Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been recently recognised by the EC as a tool to strengthen cooperation with Stakeholders under the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan), as part of the H2020 programme.

The European Technology and Innovation Platform for Ocean Energy (ETIP Ocean) is funded by the European Commission to define research and innovation priorities for the ocean energy sector and promote solutions to the industry, European and national policy makers. ETIP Ocean uses the TPOcean network to carry out its mission. TPOcean is the recognised advisory body to the European Commission and part of the EU’s main Research and Innovation policy the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan).

Smart Cities Information System
The Smart Cities Information System (SCIS) brings together project developers, cities, institutions, industry and experts from across Europe to exchange data, experience and know-how and to collaborate on the creation of smart cities and an energy-efficient urban environment. Launched with support from the European Commission, SCIS encompasses data collected from ongoing and future projects under the CONCERTO initiative and Smart Cities calls in Horizon 2020. With a focus on smart cities, energy efficiency, transport and mobility, and ICT, SCIS showcases solutions in the fields of sustainable building and district development, renewable energy sources for cities, energy efficiency and low-carbon technology applications.

EUREC – ASSOCIATION OF EUROPEAN RENEWABLE ENERGY RESEARCH CENTRES
EUREC was founded in 1991 as European Economic Interest Grouping with the goal of improving the quality and scope of European research and development in renewable energy technologies. The purpose of the association is to promote and support the development of innovative technologies and human resources to enable a prompt transition to a sustainable energy system.
The N.ERGHY association is representing the interests of European universities and research institutes in the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative (FCH JTI). Together with industry and the European Commission, it is responsible for shaping the programme of the JTI (called Annual Implementation Plan - AIP, and Multi-Annual Implementation Plan - MAIP).
The European University Association (EUA) is the representative organisation of universities and national rectors’ conferences in 47 European countries. EUA plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation. EUA is the coordinator of the UNI-SET (UNIversities in the SET-Plan) Project, http://uni-set.eu/, which aims to mobilise European universities to contribute to the ambitious European energy goals spelled out in the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan, the European Energy Union and the Europe 2020 strategy. For EUA, UNI-SET is a step in further developing the European Platform of Universities in Energy Research & Education (EUA-EPUE), which represents the university sector in the SET-Plan and in the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). The objective of EUA-EPUE is to pool the collective resources and knowledge available in European universities and to become an interface between European universities and the European institutions.

BBI JTI - BIO-BASED INDUSTRIES JTI
The Joint Undertaking on Bio-based Industries (BBI) is a public-private partnership aiming at increasing investment in the development of a sustainable bio-based industry sector in Europe.
The BUILD UP web portal is intended to reap the benefits of Europe's collective intelligence on energy reduction in buildings for all relevant audiences. It will bring together new practitioners and professional associations while motivating them to exchange best working practices and knowledge and to transfer tools and resources.
EEA - EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT AGENCY
The European Environment Agency (EEA) is an agency of the European Union. Its task is to provide sound, independent information on the environment. The EEA is a major information source for those involved in developing, adopting, implementing and evaluating environmental policy, and also the general public. Currently, the EEA has 33 member countries.
EEB CPPP - ENERGY-EFFICIENT BUILDINGS CPPP
The contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP) on Energy-efficient Buildings launched in December 2008 under the European Economic Recovery Plan managed to attract a high industrial participation and helped innovate the building sector. Under the new EU framework programme Horizon 2020, a contractual PPP on Energy-efficient Buildings will aim to develop affordable breakthrough technologies and solutions at building and district scale, facilitating the road towards future smart cities.
EERA - EUROPEAN ENERGY RESEARCH ALLIANCE
The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) is an alliance of European public research centres and universities. It is one of the cornerstones of the European Union’s Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan).
EGVI CPPP- EUROPEAN GREEN VEHICLES INITIATIVE CPPP
EGVI is a contractual public-private partnership (cPPP) dedicated to delivering green vehicles and mobility system solutions which match the major societal, environmental and economic challenges ahead. With a focus on the energy efficiency of vehicles and alternative powertrains, the EGVI cPPP aims at accelerating research, development and demonstration of technologies allowing the efficient use of clean energies in road transport.
EMIRI - ENERGY MATERIALS INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH INITIATIVE
EMIRI is driving forward research and innovation in the advanced materials for low-carbon energy applications. Innovative energy technologies are required to cost-effectively meet Europe's energy and climate change challenges. These technologies will be enabled by the introduction of new, advanced materials.
The ENIAC JU is set up as a public-private partnership, bringing together the European Commission and European Member and Associated States with AENEAS, the association representing the R&D actors in nanoelectronics (Corporate, SME's, research institutes and universities) in Europe.
FoF cPPP – FACTORIES OF THE FUTURE cPPP
The cPPP Factories of the Future’s aim is the sustainable development of the global competitiveness in the European manufacturing sector. This shall especially strengthen the technological base of small and medium-sized enterprises by the development and the inclusion of promising technologies, for instance engineering technologies for adaptive machines and industrial processes, ICT and new material. The main industrial driving force behind the cPPP is EFFRA.
JRC–IET – JOINT RESEARCH CENTRE-INSTITUTE FOR ENERGY AND TRANSPORT
The mission of the JRC Institute for Energy and Transport (JRC-IET) is to provide support to European Union policies and technology innovation to ensure sustainable, safe, secure and efficient energy production, distribution and use and to foster sustainable and efficient transport in Europe.
KIC InnoEnergy is the European company dedicated to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and education in the sustainable energy field by bringing together academics, businesses and research institutes. Its goal is to make a positive impact on sustainable energy in Europe. The KIC does this by creating future game changers with a different mind-set, and bringing innovative products, services and successful companies to life.
ManagEnergy is a technical support initiative of the Intelligent Energy - Europe (IEE) programme of the European Commission which aims to assist actors from the public sector and their advisers working on energy efficiency and renewable energy at the local and regional level.
SET-PLAN - STRATEGIC ENERGY TECHNOLOGY PLAN
The European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) sets the long-term strategic framework for the development and deployment of the low-carbon technologies in Europe. It seeks to improve new technologies and bring down costs by co-ordinating research and helping to finance projects.
SETIS - THE EUROPEAN STRATEGIC ENERGY TECHNOLOGY INFORMATION SERVICE
SETIS, managed by the JRC-IET, plays a central role in the successful implementation of the SET-Plan by helping to identify energy technology and RD&D objectives, striving to build consensus around the SET-Plan programme, identifying new opportunities, and assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the SET-Plan in delivering energy and climate change policy goals. SETIS offers an integrated approach to the exchange of data and information on low-carbon energy technologies and innovation across Member States and energy sectors. This information can be used to support the effective strategic planning, monitoring and assessment of the SET-Plan.
SPIRE cPPP – Sustainable Process Industry trough Resource and Energy Efficiency cPPP
SPIRE is a contractual Public-Private Partnership (cPPP) dedicated to innovation in resource and energy efficiency and enabled by the process industries. Its objective is to develop the enabling technologies and solutions along the value chain, required to reach long term sustainability for Europe in terms of global competitiveness, ecology and employment.
The 5G-Infrastructure-PPP is a 1.4 Billion Euro joint initiative between the European ICT industry and the European Commission to rethink the infrastructure and to create the Next generation of communication networks and services that will provide ubiquitous super-fast connectivity and seamless service delivery in all circumstances.

The Covenant of Mayors is the mainstream European movement involving local and regional authorities, voluntarily committing to increasing energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources on their territories. ENERGY CITIES –EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN ENERGY TRANSITION
Energy Cities is the European Association of local authorities in energy transition The association created in 1990 represents now more than 1,000 towns and cities in 30 countries. Its main objectives are to strengthen local authorities’ role and skills in the field of sustainable energy, to represent their interests vis-à-vis the EU institutions, as well as to develop and promote their initiatives through exchange of experiences.

Founded in 2001, ERRIN is a platform of Research and Innovation Organisations and Stakeholders in Regions. FEDARENE - EUROPEAN FEDERATION OF AGENCIES AND REGIONS FOR ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
FEDARENE promotes the regional dimension in debates concerning energy and the environment by placing particular emphasis on demand and local supply and the pursuit of sustainable development. GREEN DIGITAL CHARTER
The Green Digital Charter is a declaration committing cities to working together to deliver on the EU climate objectives through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). It therefore promotes progress in tackling climate change through the innovative use of digital technologies in cities.
HYER - HYDROGEN FUEL CELLS AND ELECTRO-MOBILITY IN EUROPEAN REGIONS
The Association provides its members, i.e. the European Regions and Municipalities, with a representative body that can be coherent, distinguishable and influential towards all relevant stakeholders and decision-makers at both public and private level. EDSO for SG - EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM OPERATORS' ASSOCIATION FOR SMART GRIDS
EDSO for Smart Grids gathers leading European distribution system operators (DSOs) for electricity, cooperating to bring smart grids from vision to reality in Europe and is focused on guiding EU RD&D, policy and member state regulation to support this development.
ENTSO-E - EUROPEAN NETWORK OF TRANSMISSION SYSTEM OPERATORS FOR ELECTRICITY
ENTSO-E, as the association of European electricity TSOs with key legal mandates from the EU institutions, aspires to become the professional body to which European and national policy makers, regulators and market participants turn for competent guidance, and which prepares pro-active proposals and objective assessments for technical, market and policy issues related to the European electricity systems. OECD – ORGANISATION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT
OECD uses its wealth of information on a broad range of topics to help governments foster prosperity and fight poverty through economic growth and financial stability. OECD helps ensure the environmental implications of economic and social development are taken into account. OECD has released a number of studies about investments in renewable energies, fossil fuel subsidies, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency.
WORLD ENERGY COUNCIL
The World Energy Council informs global, regional and national energy strategies by hosting high-level events, publishing authoritative studies, and working through its extensive member network to facilitate the world’s energy policy dialogue.
CLIMATE ACTION NETWORK
CAN is Europe's largest coalition working on climate and energy issues. With over 120 member organisations in 30 European countries, CAN Europe works to prevent dangerous climate change and promote sustainable climate and energy policy in Europe.
The member cities and municipalities aim for the reduction of greenhouse emissions. For achieving this goal local climate strategies are developed and implemented, especially in the energy and transport sectors. Furthermore there are measures to raise the publics awareness for the protection of the rainforest and to abstain in municipal procurement from tropical timber derived from destructive logging.

The ECEE is a membership-based non-profit association. As Europe’s largest and oldest NGO dedicated to energy efficiency, we generate and provide evidence-based knowledge and analysis of policies, and it facilitates co-operation and networking.

The Bio-Based Industries Consortium (BIC) is the private partner in the European Public-Private Partnership on Bio-based Industries with the EU. BIC members have all committed to invest in collaborative research, development and demonstration of bio-based technologies within the BBI JTI.
CEFIC - THE EUROPEAN CHEMICAL INDUSTRY COUNCIL
Cefic is the forum and the voice of the chemical industry in Europe. EBA is the leading European association in the field of biogas. ETNA 2020 Project has the objective to foster innovation in trans-national cooperation in Transport with a focus on promoting the active participation of new actors and regions in EU research calls and projects.
